HMRC have began the process of digitising tax as of April 2019. This means that business income and expenditure records are digitally linked to various returns that are filed. The first step of this involves businesses that are VAT registered and we are fully equipped to help businesses that already keep digital records as well as assist in the transition onto digital means.
Don’t panic. Whether you have been asked to file a Self Assessment, Company Accounts, Corporation Tax Return or a VAT Return, let us know immediately. As agents, we’re able to liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on your behalf about your taxation affairs. Don’t ignore any letters you receive and make sure to let us know of all past correspondence received from HMRC or Companies House.
If you’re preparing a return by paper, it needs to go in by 31st October which is 7 months after the end of the tax year (6th April to 5th April the following year). For online submissions, the deadline is 31st January of the following year.
